Thirteen Chilean flamingos at Cape May County Zoo came directly from Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch estate. They live in the outdoor Flamingo Yard in summer and move to the World of Birds building during cooler months. Their pink coloring is maintained through their shrimp and crustacean diet — skip the shrimp and they start to fade. It’s one of those conversation-stopping facts that makes the zoo genuinely unforgettable even for people who didn’t come for flamingos.
